Super Junior – Sorry Sorry
No wonder so many Bollywood music directors steal their melodies straight from K-Pop these days – the bones of the music is remarkably similar. And did you know that new Youtube has a separate K-Pop page?

Mag44, Tio, Pompi & Chungu – Chipolopolo (Africa Unlimited)
In honour of what went down in Bata last night, here’s probably the most fresh-sounding song about the Zambian national football team I’ve ever heard.
Edit/Update: Now with a music video as well.

Alfred Gare ft. Babo – Dungkele
The vast wounds colonialism has wrought on the world occasionally expose connections that are hard to explain by mimesis alone. Like, how come music on the Indonesian island of Flores sounds like synthed-up 70s German schlager?

I normally post electronic-based music on here but looking for music from the Maldives (based on the “The political situation is interesting, let’s look up the music” principle) it’s hard not to get stuck on boduberu. Even a DJ would have to admire the total dancefloor control Harubee has. (The cameraman’s malegazing is bloody annoying though.)

Ука ft. Амараа – Hi ladies
Certainly not averse to a little straightforward pop now and again, especially with such a Gagesque video. Rapper Amaraa kinda steals the show. Love the Mongolian faiblesse for Epic Production Company Titles too.

5five – Bossu Kena
This whole azonto trip is amazing, what a goldmine. This track has some of that old kwaito vibe (à la Durban house) and the paring down, the perfectly enigneered percussive hits and the 90s house piano/riot horn = magic.

DJ Philo – اتحاد القوة واسود كرموز
There’s no decent dictionary-aware romanizing translitterator of Arabic available online (opportunity!), so this is my best guess as to what the above is meant to be. Google translate suggests force and dark symbols may figure in the title. Like many other recent good things, this comes out of following DJ Amr 7a7a on facebook and random-tangentially browsing off that.

Andrea & Costi/Sahara – Neblagodaren
This bilingual monster probably needs a re-edit. But damn, I can really see the instrumental bits on the dance floor.

Pérola – Fala o que quiseres
Massively built-up, perfectly vocalised, exemplary kizomba let down by a power-balladesque last half-minute, but still one of the best new tracks in the genre for a while.
